Friday
My phone updated and has locked itself on the default ringtones for notifications as well as phone calls. No matter what I have tried (turning phone off and on, changing to default in settings then turning phone off and on then changing back, clearing phone cache) the thing won't switch back.
I find the default sounds to be atrocious, and had a custom ringtone. This has turned my very expensive phone that I only got because my S22 bricked into an annoyance. Please help.

Try going in My Files app and find your ringtone and set it again.

First, check in Settings > Notification that you have not accidentally turned off notification selection for each app, if so, then turn it on. After that, go to the App and there you will have the option of choosing a sound for each application, see picture. You can add your Ringtones in Settings>Sounds and Vibrating >Ringtones, but you will have to add the notification sound manually in My Files>Internal Storage>Notification (sounds for apps and messengers) and after that you will see yours custom notification in Settings > Sounds > Notification
