Reminder: check for updates on the Play store and galaxy store

With the S25u being so new (actually the official release date is not until this Friday 7th feb) there are a lot of updates being pushed to various apps right now. 

Every time I check galaxy store and play store i see a number of new app updates. I would urge you to do the same. This may help with any incompatabilities or usage issues during this early stage. 

Actually I have not seen many issues at all myself, but nonetheless it is worth keeping everything up to date. A quick scan once every couple of days may yield some improved apps.

To be honest j haven't tried any customisation yet. I wanted to see what the native OneUI7 looks like when used as stock for a while.

I have used goodlock in the past, and it is powerful and with endless customisation possibilities.

However my thoughts are that Samsung have spent a lot of time and effort improving their UI year on year... and then if I were to just change that look with my own oreferred skin... which maybe similar to what I had chosen with oneui6... then it kind of defeats the object of having an update if I then modify to my default look.

I know this is an extreme view and I am sure it will have new and improved oneui7 uniqueness as well... but you see my point perhaps.

I will give goodlock and perhaps nova launcher a try after my familiarisation time with oneui7.

P.s. tbe phone isn't 'officially' released until 7th feb... which may be why goodlock appears to not have released their latest software yet. Let's see.

I dislike that Samsung wants to offer such a narrow user experience. It's not inclusive. The home OneUI7 experience is more restrictive than previous versions - try to get an alphabetical horizontal app drawer... 7 says NOPE to that!

They have dished out the phone to customers already and wider launch dates are meaningless to their core customers that will be first in line.

First experiences count and in afraid Samsung seem be behaving like they don't really even believe in their own products anymore...

Home up is coming I have it already on my S25 U - download the files but had to kind of side load the app. It will be rolled out officially on OneU17 soon by all accounts. Its great - the customisation is immense. And the newer version of goodlock which is soon to be released has a stack of new features.

Ok sure. I guess it is 'horses for courses'... and everyone to their own choices.

I understand goodlock gives you the choice to tailor for your liking and especially if you don't particularly like the default UI.

I have been enjoying OneUI7, I have to say. I wasn't beta testing it and the S25 ultra new ui seems fresh, and actually there is a lot more changes to the UI look and feel than during previous year updates. I.e. ui5 to ui6 etc.

I am sure goodlock will be fully released soon, and perhaps some embedded modules are already available.

I guess if you find Samsung UI restrictive... don't ever buy a particular fruity competitor phone ! (Cheap joke ... dont shoot me 😂)

It's a pity that I get the impression that Nova is dead in the water. When I had the time to configure it that used to be my one stop shop for customisation. I read about unmanaged bugs etc with Nova thesedays though.

I agree OneUI7  is smooth - and this year is the first I have not instantly slammed on a launcher. I was a dedicated MS launcher user but have held off this time so far. And combined with what the next version of Goodlock will offer (have been using the pre release version) it is a really good experience.

I use my handset a lot for work, multiple email accounts, and various portals I need to be in and out of daily. It all connects seamlessly to my Galaxy book laptop , and feels very secure - which it needs to be. Im still getting used to working without a launcher and have not even installed my sim from my s23 ultra but will be doing so soon when fully set up. OneUI7 seems so far to give all I need and more!
