Samsung really are pulling the wool over people's eyes. After saying they were reading usage reports, only 1% use the Bluetooth function on the spen. Apparently that equates to 160000 people which is a lot. Am I being thick or do they get these usage reports when we opt into it when setting up the phone? How many people turn off usage reports when setting up their phone? I know I do. I smell a rat with Samsung. Air gestures are so much fun. The most composed Selfies I find is by using the spen. This was the ultras signature ™️ that should never have been up for debate. It's a great bit of tech. The S25 ultra has lost it's id. It's looking like the IPhone now. IPhone/moto g stylus vibes. No thanks. Get back to the drawing board and start giving us S10 model vibes again when you were flexing muscles globally. But losing handy hardware and copying apple seems the way forward. 🤮

It's strange but the S series never had an S-Pen until the S22 Ultra. Not sure how that's become the signature feature everyone uses tbh, especially when you mention the S10 which never had an S-Pen or support for one. I like the S-Pen, but if I'm honest, I'll use it once or twice per year for any real use case scenarios, much less it's Bluetooth capabilities. I'm not saying it's a good feeling to have lost the functionality but it's far from pulling the wool over my eye's.

Yeah I get that. But i have a couple of Bluetooth triggers around somewhere if i really need that remote shutter button. In a way it's better as I can clip them to a belt loop or whatever and not worry about losing the S Pen.

But that S23 Ultra will have a load of life left in it yet

It's been with the note since 2011. The ultra was always compared to the note. Remember all that talk about it? Why is it called the ultra, etc? Shame to start removing useful Bluetooth functions. My old S105g was such a brilliant device. Obviously, there was no spen, which was fine. Then, gradually, the next best thing was the ultra models. This S23 ultra is my very first ultra device, and I couldn't wait to use the spen. That's why it's a big deal. It's a super handy fun bit of tech that should stay that way. Very unnecessary and spiteful move from Samsung. If you didn't use wireless charging, and Samsung removed it because not many were using it, would you still be happy paying all that money for downgraded specs? It's clearly a cost cutting move by them, and they justify it by telling us that the extra money will go into more useless ai *****. It's an ultra phone. Best of the best! No shortcuts! If you're happy paying more for less, then good for you. The S25 ultra also looks like an iPhone. It looks nothing like an ultra should. Samsung used to be unique. I'd love another S10 model design with a 6.9" screen. Not fussed if it doesn't come with an spen. But I am fussed if you still get an spen with the newer ultra models and they take a very useful Bluetooth function away. If that's not a downgrade, I don't know what is. Pulling the wool over many people's eyes trying to justify why they downgrade and still charge big money is scandalous. It's ridiculous! But whatever makes you happy. We used to have ir blasters. How useful were they?!? They could easily put that back in aswell. I only paid £500 for my S23 ultra 512g last year. The last time I paid full price for a Samsung phone was for the S105g back in 2019. Just hate the way specs have been downgraded over the years, and yet the price is not justifiable. Even the S23+ scandalously had a 1080p screen. Look at some of the competition that comes with more specs and much cheaper. Many are fed up. The differences between the S23/24/25 ultra phones aren't night and day. I'm not sure what to be excited about, lol.

I don't use then pen often and if I do it's to draw or select something. The air actions are too unreliable and you only lose that and the remote camera trigger. That is the 1% they are talking about. Not 1% only use the pen. And I remember the 1% adamantly saying that millions of people would not buy a phone without an headphone jack or sd card slot. Yet sales did not drop off. It's the 1% complaining and the other 99% being thankful for not having to pay £50 for a Bluetooth pen they never used

Come on, mate, are you honestly buying into the 1% rubbish? 99% thankful?? And to strengthen your argument, you're using the same 1% for the headphones shenanigans?? We should demand a global enquiry, lol. The air actions are fun, which is nice. Sales haven't exactly been off the charts for the S25 ultra. At the end of the day, it's an ultra! Best of the best! No shortcuts! No cost cutting! No downgraded specs, whatever the costs! And definitely no copying apple!

I wanted magsage for a year now and that is not compatible with spen. I bet more people want magsafe too. I have two mates with S24Us and they didn't even know what air actions was. They did know about the camera trigger but like me never used it. There is a petition the ChangeOrg site and not seeing millions of people signing it, right now it's at 3,860. And is nobody wants it without Bluetooth pen why is it sold out and recent orders being cancelled by Samsung. Lots of reports by people here. Reality check is that not enough used it to justify the expense and magsafe is a better feature that waving a pen to play next track.

Actually no, the Ultra was never compared to the Note until 2022 when Samsung decided to merge the lines. I don't agree with rewriting history to suit your own beliefs. Also the Bluetooth functionality (which is the whole reason for this rant) was only introduced since the Note 9. The S series only got support for the S-Pen since the S21 Ultra.

Sales for the S25 Ultra? You from the future and know the sales forecast before the phones release?

I bet many are not aware of the petition. And 1693 of the 3860 you've mentioned signed today. I've read many people cancelling their orders after finding out about the spen. Apparently, Samsung has been cancelling orders where customers have been using codes. It's not sold out whatsoever. You can easily get a magnetic case, lol. Waving the pen to play next track is really cool. Taking selfies with the pen is cool. The ultra is turning into what looks like an iPhone with a splash of moto g stylus. Not cool.

The point of this rant isn't about history, it's about downgraded specs. Doesn't really matter when it came out. Matters when it gets taken out.
