Hello world
I have been facing a problem for a while, but I don't know where its roots come from, when I make a WhatsApp call during the call I want to put the phone in my pocket during the call and use my Buds 3 Pro so I have to lock the screen but when I take my phone out of my pocket I find that it has done many things and it was not locked and then I discovered that I cannot lock my phone while making a WhatsApp call. I don’t know why. I tried to turn my phone off and on. I tried deleting WhatsApp and reinstall it, but it didn’t work.
Is this a software problem or where?
Does anyone of you face the same problem? Try to call someone on WhatsApp, and during the call while you were talking to him, lock your phone and turn on the screen again. You will find that the phone is unlocked!

The phone isn't unlocked. Lemme explain.

Some apps use a feature where they can function before the lock screen. When you're on a WhatsApp call and lock your phone, the phone does lock, but whatsapp appears before the lock screen to give you access to the phone call.

If you hang up or try to leave whatsapp you'll be sent to the lock screen. Same happens with normal phone calls too.

Google maps does it too. Start navigation to somewhere, lock the phone, unlock it, maps appears. If you try to leave or exit the route, the lock screen appears.

In terms of specifics, I believe it's called "app pinning" except in this case the app itself is doing it. Normal pinning can be done by the user. Allows you to kinda lock an app open, hand your phone to someone, no more lock screen but they can't leave that app.

Turn on accidental touch protection in settings. That should sort anything like that out when the phone is in your pocket.

I will do that but shouldn't the phone lock when I lock it at any time? Why does it stay unlocked while I am on a WhatsApp call even though I press the lock button?

I know exactly what you're talking about but that's not what's happening what's happening is that I'm in the apps list I'm completely out of the WhatsApp call and put it in the background and I lock my phone Press the side key again and the phone works normally and I can go to the applications and everything even though I locked it!
What's happening is not only the call interface I can control the entire device after pressing the side button after trying to lock my phone with it
Maybe you can try what I'm talking about, you'll see the same problem and the same error.

The comment did not talk about the problem I am facing.
He is talking about the call interface only, I am talking about a completely unlocked device during the WhatsApp call

Gave it a try on my own device, it acts how I mentioned it SHOULD act, meaning something else is going on here with your device in particular.

Idea. Settings, lock screen and aod, secure lock settings, auto lock when screen turns off. Make sure that's set to immediately. I have a feeling it's set to 5 seconds. Also make sure lock instantly with side key is on.

You might be locking and unlocking your device quickly, something you wouldn't normally do. So you might be triggering it

Your feeling is misplaced. This is a problem, not a setting that needs to be adjusted.1754670691079.jpg

"Lock instantly with side button" is off.

I'm quite opposed to saying it's an issue or glitch as none of my devices do it. Tried on 3 different phones, none are left fully unlocked. I really think it's a setting
