My phone will not update to one UI 8 it's saying failed to update Smart Switch needs an update do it on your computer or contact support so my phone is broken

Having a hard time understanding that very long sentence.

Is your phone able to turn on and work, just the update isn't installing. Or is your phone showing a screen telling you something has gone wrong

Don't also forget after the two others errors saying that it started downloading

Ok, so when you try to download the update, what happens?

Then connect you phone to a pc and and run smartswitch and attempt to download and update again

My boyfriend tired to updated but it says he has to use smart switch problem is we both don't have access to a PC
