Gemini assistant enquiry

Hey, so you guys know Google's using Gemini now, right? Like, instead of Google Assistant? My old phone, "Hey Google" worked perfectly, but this new S25 has Gemini, and using the side button is weird – though I'm getting used to it. I can't find a setting to use "Hey Google" though. I want to be able to ask Gemini to play music in the shower, you know? I've seen others doing it, so it must be possible. Could you help me figure this out? Any feedback would be appreciated!

You can activate Gemini using the 'Hey Google' command for Google Assistant. I did it on mine, which has worked since I got the 25U.
I would advise you to check your settings to see if that has been turned off by default.

Gemini uses Google Assistant voice recognition. To be able to activate Gemini with voice recognition I had to keep Google Assistant downloaded and go into Gemini settings and select it to be my voice assistant. It seems incredibly responsive, more so than what Google Assistant was, and it seems to be much more consistent performance in my experience. Annoyingly because Gemini relies on Google Assistant for responding to voice commands you can't uninstall Google Assistant even if you don't use that one anymore. I hope somewhen soon Google will add voice recognition directly to the Gemini app
