Something I hoped I could do with the shiny new AI was telling it to play a specific album or song from my LOCAL music library. But it doesn't understand the query at all! No matter what I tell it, it tries to play it on Youtube Music (which is not even installed as I don't use it, so I removed it).

Pretty disappointing considering I am pretty sure Google Assistant (not Gemini, the old, dumb one) could do it. On iPhone, Siri can do it since forever.

Would be very useful if Samsung could add this feature to their fancy suite of AI tools. Not only with Music but with stuff from the album as well such as videos or pics.

Hello 👋 @MRK0017 and Welcome to the Samsung Community Forum.

Personally I use Google Assistant to play my Spotify but I don't have music downloaded in the music app.

My Spotify list is downloaded however.

Maybe send feedback directly to Samsung via your Samsung Members App @MRK0017

If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask  😎

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

Gemini isn't designed to do any phone operations (yet). If you wish to open music on your phone, you can use Bixby to open the music app of your choice, such as Samsung Music, then ask Bixby to play.

Bixby does all those operations you ask for too, such as opening your Picture Gallery and videos etc. You can ask Bixby for device settings, it's own settings etc. I always use Bixby to set my phones brightness to 30% (because I'm OCD about the precise % 😂). In fact Bixby has had better functionality than all other AI assistants in the past and still does things many of the others don't, especially when it comes to device control.
