Dex for Windows PC with S25

Hi All,

Unsure if I am getting this wrong, but am I correct saying that Samsung has disabled Dex for Windows with the S25 series and the only way to connect is via PhoneLink? This is if you want to concurrently work on your work PC (in my case) and also have the S25 screen up (say pull up on one of my screens when required). I have tried Dex (downloaded and installed in my work laptop) and connected via a compatible (supplied) USB-C cable, and it doesn't seem to work. Annoying move if that's the case, forcing to create Microsoft account, which most people won't have on their personal devices, I'd like to think majority of people would have Google accounts (for personal use and on their mobiles). Samsung's OS platform is now Google based too, so a bit of conflict there too.

Anybody has had the same issue and any work-around to get the Dex on windows PC running with S25? Any help/direction around this would be highly appreciated.

Huh? Google pixels have stock android, Google have another android?
I think you're wrong, all version of Android are based off stock android. Each carrier or hardware manufacturer make there own version with their brand of software etc....

Unsure if you read my comment properly, or probably I didn't explain well. Essentially the same thing I said. Stock android is the native one, whereas the experience with the customized ones are different to the stock.

90% of the android out there are basically skinned verson of stock android. The minor modifications will still impact the running of the os

Agree, and that's where I feel Samsung didn't make a good blend with the s25 series, a blend of google apps, experience, with Microsoft based phone link, and some asamsung experience, could have stayed with Google + Samsung.

Does s25 ultra support or can run samsung dex in windows 11 laptop via usb type-c that come with device through samsung dex.exe installed in laptop...???? my one does not recornize when connected via usb type- c....!!

Hi, it doesn't unfortunately. The feature has been taken off S25.

 what an innovation / i did choose s25 over iphone for this reason and now i know thats gone great...!

No idea. I'm assuming they just decided phone link was a better option

yes i liked the feature too it was so easy to drag and drop things from the phone sigh.... guess i'll do it the old way....
