I purchased the S25 Ultra for its camera. In particular for its 'Ultra Wide Camera'. But so far it appears to be no better than my old Note 9 and photos are no wider. Am I missing something? There appears to be no setting in the camera setting for wide angle.

Would you be able to download the camera assistant app, I may have a solution to your issue.

here is the link: https://apps.samsung.com/appquery/appDetail.as?appId=com.samsung.android.app.cameraassistant

Once you have installed the app, please follow the instructions below.

Open camera app > open settings > scroll down; tap camera assistant > disable auto lens switching

That might solve your issue with it not looking wider.

Sorry for my late reply. Lost power and got locked out as I could not at first remember my new access code! Anyway, I have now tried all the settings recommended and I am pleased to say the photos are far wider now than my Note 9.

I will take a look at Camera Assistant.

Thank you Bindex and others for your help. Much appreciated.

That's great to hear, what solution fixed it for you? Just in-case anyone else runs into this issue and I can give them the quickest help so they have a great experience on Samsung devices.

Following your advice on settings and the Camera Assistant app. Not sure why Samsung have to have a separate app. Simply have the settings in the camera.

Still a bit disappointed wide angle is not as wide as I had envisaged. Not as wide as my 16mm to 28mm slr camera. As an architect I need wide angle to photo buildings and a mobile in my pocket is handy for this rather than a larger camera.

I'm glad, my advice helped you! Yeah mobile phones won't be able to beat a DSLR or Mirrorless camera with ultrawide lenses.

But I'm glad this issue is fixed for you.
