Battery drain through email app/exchange

Hi all,
I have the s25 Ultra and am quite happy. But I realised that Samsung Mail or Gmail (tested both) are by far the apps that drain the battery most if I don't use my phone a lot. It is even more than play services, which is usually high when the phone is just in standby. I have an exchange account set up to sync contacts, calendar and mails.

With OneUi 6 I didn't have this issue.
If I uninstall/disable the email apps, there is no issue.

Any idea what causes this? Or could it be a bug with the exchange protocol?

Thanks for opinions or solutions.

Hello @dphoffmann

I use the Samsung email app exclusively for all my email accounts.

For example today from 5am to present time of writing this reply it has used >

Maybe long hold on the email app icon and tap on i and then storage and then clear cache as a first step.

Daily Driver > Samsung Galaxy s²⁵ Ultra 512Gb ~ Titanium Black.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

Hi! How odd. I would suggest going to Settings > Apps > the email app you're using > Force stop > Clear cache. See if this fixes your problem.

Thank you. I also tried a new installation. Didn't work. I guess that there's a but with the active sync/exchange?

I have an update. The email apps only seem to use so much battery when I am not connected to WiFi.

When I work, without WiFi, the email app is the 2nd highest battery drainer although I didn't open the email app at all.

At home in WiFi it is one of the lowest with 0.2%

Any ideas what the issue could be?
