Adaptive brightness does not lower

Adapaptive brightness does not lower when I go into bright environment and then move to darker environment, the slider will lower but the brightness will not go lower until I turn off the screen first then turn the screen back on

Please could you try turning off Adaptive brightness, restarting your phone, and when it has fully restarted turning Adaptive brightness back on?
