This isn't just for the S24 but unsure where to post, my current experience is with S24 U...

Seems I cannot connect to some public WiFi networks and unclear why, maybe it's a setting?

As an example, I was recently on a plane with a dedicated WiFi network to stream movies etc... the instructions were simple, but my phone just would not connect...

Tried with my work iPhone... no issues. The person Infront of me was using android so don't believe it's a strict iOS Vs android thing...

Any technical experts out there with some ideas? I looked through all the settings but I can't see anything relevant...

S24 Ultra wouldn't not accept

iPhone connects no problem

I deleted the saved network to try fresh, restarted etc etc

I have seen this before with other public WiFi....

Hi @GusB

This is a difficult one to troubleshoot because you will need to be in the same airline. Does it connect fine to other public Wi-Fi networks? The S24U supports Wi-Fi 7 and its module might have some issues talking to old technology.

You could check these settings:

To get the "Connectivity labs" menu you may net tap a few times "Intelligent Wi-Fi"

Settings -> Connections -> WiFi -> three dots settings -> Intelligent Wi-Fi -> Connectivity labs ->

Scroll down to Wi-Fi 7 mode, toggle off.

Settings -> Connections -> WiFi -> three dots settings -> Intelligent Wi-Fi -> Connectivity labs -> Wi-Fi developers options -> WiFi and network diagnosis -> Network diagnosis(tab) has some network test that might give you an indication of what is failing.

On Settings -> Security and privacy -> More security settings -> Secure Wi-Fi. It could be causing issues, check settings for denying access.

Technology enthusiast, but not related to any technological company.

Hi gus,

I've also got an S24 Ultra and last week I started getting the very same message on my phone as on yours. Were you able to sort it out? I'm still trying and getting nowhere
