Hi all,

Does anyone else feel like the UI is not smooth at all, with frames dropping and occasional stutters? I mean I compared with my friends £300 Poco phone and his was definitely more fluid which is an absolute joke considering how much I spent on this phone. Also do you think it could be a software issue since the phone just came out?

I certainly haven't noticed this...try clearing the cache partition (search how to if not sure)

It could be an app or a theme you may have downloaded @GusB

My advice is to try Safe Mode  > https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-to-start-my-galaxy-device-in-safe-mode/ turns off downloaded apps and themes etc which may highlight an app or theme that's causing conflict.

See what happens.

Remember the phone will still be indexing itself up from your initial setting up.

Some who have used Smartswitch to transfer over information have said they can see stutters and glitches.

I personally use my Samsung back up from the cloud.

On regards to clearing the phone's System Partition Cache Files Section.

> Clear Cache Files from the phone's System Partition Section  > https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-do-i-clear-the-cache-on-my-device/ You may need to insert your earphones or hook upto a powered On Laptop or use a Tv's USB Port to access the Clear Partition Section. This may help with lag or stutters as this clears the phone of old/unused or broken cache files. There is also a Repair Apps option in the Menu System too.

If I can be of any further help then please don't hesitate to ask.  😎

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

Mine has been the smoothest I've seen on any phone yet, without a single bit of lag anywhere.

I noticed this when I was setting up the phone to my old settings on my s23u it lasted a couple of hours, then it was fine, or it has been fine since.

Also I guess Samsung will come up with some patches along the aisle since now it's gathering data on phone usage from all of us.

No lagging here for my S24 Ultra. Only issue I've had so far is on one occasion it didn't recognise charger but that only happened the once.

If there is lagging, chances are you have an app causing it, not the device. I'm assuming your network signals are fine.

I am surprised at the advice above to Wipe Partition Cache though. Normally this would be my first point of call but not on a brand new device.

Just out of interest, did you Smart Switch from your old device to new? I did but I've also seen elsewhere here that it may be better to set up as a new device (for apps and settings etc).

Just to add, make sure you update all your apps on the Google play store and Galaxy Store. Updating in the background is normally the reason for UI lag in the early days as well as apps/data being automatically restored by backups.

I tried to use smartswitch a few times but for some reason it always stopped at around 90%(cabled connection), and in the end I managed to only transfer some media, and contacts, and the rest of my apps I recovered from samsung backup.
Also maybe I was a bit too dramatic about my issues out of frustration..The stutters are super rare, but It feels like it's dropping some frames in the UI, and I notice it immediately because I'm fixated on it.

It was a bit more fluid in safe mode, but not sure where to go from there, since I've got quite a few apps I use. I'm also gonna try to wipe cache partition but don't have access to a laptop or wired headphones atm.

No. Mines perfect. Must be something you've downloaded.
