QR Code Scanning and URL Preview: In this regard, many users noted that, unlike the case with devices like the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra, in this model, users cannot view the full URL of a QR code before opening it; thus, this used to be a feature but is no longer available with a move away from safety mode for many. There is no drop down button in the QR-code interface to view the URL. Even the Google Lens app, for example, only shows the first part of a URL, which is still not safe enough considering how easy it would be to modify, for example, an X.com social media link into sending users to whatever website they want—be it sites with malicious malware or viruses. Note: This issue was discovered on the T-mobile firmware using the January, 2025 Android security patch update and still exists with latest patches as of February 16, 2025.
I'd rather use the camera or gallery apps to scan QR codes instead of third party apps filled with ads, but I can't if I have no idea what's behind the QR code. Is the link malware or a virus? There's no way to tell, very insecure to have it like that. There's no toggle arrow to preview the link, or even the open link menu, and in the gallery app it just opens the link without warning. The QR code screenshot from my phone example below just leads to Facebook is all, but this is what I see with the camera for QR codes, no way to preview the links. I'm surprised nobody else has brought up this issue, I cannot find anything else about it online. Please help. Thanks for your time.
I recently bought a 9/10 excellent condition Samsung Galaxy S24 phone and had some issues with it. So while I was scouring the internet for scattered about solutions, I put together a comprehensive article with solutions for those problems.

Somehow it fixed itself for regular QR codes and seems to only happen with Facebook and other social media QR codes.
