Hello,
After updating my Galaxy S24 Ultra to One UI 7, I've noticed a significant delay when locking the screen. The screen takes about a second or more to turn off, which wasn't an issue before the update.
Even after the recent hotfix, released almost a month later, this issue still hasn't been resolved. I'm very disappointed, especially considering that many users have reported this problem — including multiple posts on Reddit and other forums. It's clearly a widespread issue affecting a lot of people.
Yes, I'm aware that switching to QHD+ resolution "fixes" the delay, but I don't consider this a real solution. It's just a workaround that increases battery consumption unnecessarily. We shouldn't have to sacrifice battery life just to avoid UI lag.
Please take this issue seriously and address it in an upcoming update.
Thank you.

Did you attempt any troubleshooting

Yeah, I wiped the cache partition — it didn’t help.
Like my phone is very clean: no bloatware, no unnecessary apps or modifications.
This is clearly a One UI 7 issue.

Did you try in safe mode. Does it lock immediately there? If yes it could be some app(s) causing the delay

And just to make it clear — this issue only happens when the screen resolution is set to FHD+.
You need to unlock the screen first, and then, when you try to lock it again, the lag appears.
Some people might not notice it, but for me, it's very noticeable and annoying.

Yeah, I just tried it.
Unfortunately, it didn’t help.

Ok. I can't replicate it on my s25 though. It locks just as fast on fhd+ and hd+

Yeah, everything should be fine on the S25 series.
I think this bug only affects the S24 series and older models.

Then, all that's left is to send feedback as suggested and hopefully it will be fixed in next/future updates
