Unboxed my s24 ultra and did a little test video run along side the s22 ultra and somehow in low light video the s22 ultra performed better with less noise, I can upload them here but I don't know if the compression will make it worse.

The compression won't make it look as good
In all honesty. The cameras and software, although look similar. They are quite different.
It's a matter of getting used to the S24 Ultra.
Ive not tried low light filming on mine yet
Just know my S23 Ultra is actually very good.
Also I believe there is an update soon with camera adjustments
If it's that bad then maybe see if you have to return it
But I think, be patient and keep playing with the settings etc

I think it's just the rough software and hopefully with a couple weeks down the line they touch it up

If you haven't had any updates yet, apparently there is one coming. But nothing said officially though

After playing around a little bit more the s24 ultra does take better night shots however you can also see the line of the light on the camera ( not sure what's its called)

I just got it yesterday S24Ultra. Camera let me down. I upgraded from Note10plus I thought it will be a big up but omg the quality and detail worse than my note10plus. Too much noise and it cant even maintain a clean line ruined by noise. Night mode too yellowish. Scene with backlit even under max optimisation cant push out details like the note10plus does. It just win in the zoom area. Just too much noise and lost background details! Im so confused this should be 100 times better than my old note10plus I bought it without even think. Not again, i ll not buy phone next time before test it. Sooooo dissapointed I bought 2 one for me and another for my wife. I guess I ll just stick to my note10plus and gift it to my sons.

Can confirm. Just bougth a new Samsung S24 Ultra and the videos at lowlight conditions are absolutely horrible. Bought the camera just before going to Thailand with the idea of getting better videos, but this is a big dissapointment. Videos in daylight are excellent, but in lowlight the discoloration and massive amounts of noise and compression artefacts are way worse than my previous S22 Ultra.  I regret turning in my S22 for this. I would rather have taken the S22 on vacation 😞

I did the same and thankfully i just realized it before my Thailand trip .

I gave up my iphone 15 Pro max and to be honest as you mentioned too , the camera quality is just not top .

I will switch back to Iphone to be honest . Yeah iphone new things and better things on paper , but the reason why i changed long time ago from samsung to iphone was the exact same issue . For this money its just not acceptable that this kind if issue is happening . Iphone is behind in many ways , but one thing i have to admit , i can trust in my phone , i open the camera app and i know its gonna make its job .

I upgraded from the S21 Ultra and only after a month or so I wanted to take a video in low light and was really disappointed. There's just so much noise! What have they done? I have an S23 (not Ultra) for business which takes much better, brighter and sharper low light footage than the S24U, and I'd be happy to take a side by side comparison shot to prove it.
