Hi,

I used the Abbott Librelink 3 app to read the glucose meter on my arm.

However, I cannot even scan it at all. I know the device isn't officially supported (but neither was my previous phone, and iphone, and that worked without a hitch) but would anyone know workarounds?

Thanks

I have the Libre2 App and a new S24 Ultra - the s24 Ultra refuses to recognise the sensor but after I gave up I then used the old Abbott reader which works fine with the Libre2 App. So the problem seems to be between the Abbott2 App and S24 Ultra - I removed and reinstalled the App and cleared the cache - this made not difference. I suspect the S24Ultra as the fundamental problem. This is a real shame as going back to the reader instead of using the phone is a backward step. My old s20 phone worked perfectly - Tony Theydon

The S24U (snapdragon) works with the sensors 2 and 3. I have screen captures.
Here for a sensor 2

I have both s23+ (which is snapdragon) and s24+ (which is exynos), and none works with sensor 3, but I was working with sensor 2 with no problem.
I believe that the issue is with the sensor, not the phone.

  • It's 100% up to the app.. I'm reading the sensor with Juggluco now and it works 100% with the sensor and the values are also sent to LibreView... the doctor can also read the values from there. According to support from Abbort, adapting the S24 can take up to 2 years... we therefore recommend checking the compatibility of your smartphone and purchasing the S22 if you have a new contract or purchase a new Samsung smartphone! and they were really serious about that

This problem is totally ridiculous.
The fact that they, Abbott, have finally decided to adapt to all the other manufacturers of glucose reader sensors by developing their own App (fortunately for users, being able to lighten their "diabetes luggage"), but for the latter there is no ready and reactive team in monitoring and maintaining the progress of the App to correct BUGs and potential malfunctions that various users will encounter as technology progresses, thus being able to improve the experience of patients who entrust their health to their shitty devices, is absolutely ridiculous.

The thing I wonder is if it works the same way with other sensors, but I don't think so.
I have never heard a user of Dexcom or other sensors complain about these problems.
The other thing I wonder is how they manage to obtain ministerial authorizations, this is how it works in Italy (and probably in many other countries), for the diffusion of their devices on the market with all these problems and this total lack of assistance.

(this is a screenshot taken from their website regarding the Freestyle Libre 3 section where they report in large letters "Autorizzazione del Ministero della Salute del 21/07/2023", it means "Authorization from the Ministry of Health dated 07/21/2023")

They, Abbott, certainly save a lot of money by not having a paid team to take care of this aspect, but the cost of their sensors for patients is no different than those of other manufacturers.

An absolute shame, and the fact that no one intervenes is even more shameful.
