I've had my phone about a week and seem to be having an issue with the video quality on 3rd party apps, such as WhatsApp. It's extremely poor when on video call, my old galaxy phone was much clearer. Is anyone else experiencing this same issue or perhaps have a solution? Thank you.
Hi, yes I have tried changing the resolution, checked over my settings and wifi connection, restarted my phone, turned off power saving, etc. The quality doesn't seem to improve at all, yet on my previous device (A52), video calls were much clearer.
Do you have the same device or different? Yes, I think I'm going to contact Samsung on Monday, and if they can't help me, I'll take it back to the retailer. Thank you, Star Girl 😊
I see myself in poor quality, which then led me to ask them whether they also did. They said the quality wasn't the best and in comparison to my last phone it's worse, when I would have expected it to be sharper and clearer, etc.
You can test calling someone next yo you and inspect the quality for yourself although it's weird that even your own preview is poor in quality since the video on the little preview window where you see yourself does not go through the network which is why the quality there is often better than the one the person across would see. Do you also see poor quality in the camera app with the selfie cam active? Also, if you record a video with the selfie cam, is it in poor quality?
In WhatsApp in particular, under storage and data, there's a *use less data for calls* option, not sure if it affects video but it's worth checking. Although I'm more curious if you're getting poor quality directly from the camera app too
