Hello. Someone called me on a WhatsApp call and pretended to be a church member. They asked for a code that was sent to my phone, and I gave it to them. Before I knew it, my WhatsApp was hacked, and I was logged out. Now, I'm trying to log in, but the code is being sent to their phone. What can I do?

Hi there, first thing is never share any codes from people you don't know that's really self-explanatory, the thing you could do try to get in touch with WhatsApp and explain what happened they might help you to get you account back, also you can try You'll then have to re-register for a WhatsApp account, which will automatically deactivate the account on the other device.

Mhm, only thing you can do now is contact whatsapp/meta and hope. All of your whatsapp contacts will now be getting the same scam messages from your number. Maybe let your friends and family know so they don't believe fake you

Hi@carlycalton , sorry you have experienced this and there is a need to be vigilant and not share codes with unknown folk. That is a bit of a red flag. very good advice from the others in getting your account back. A number of scams about and useful information in this guide. https://www.ncsc.gov.uk/collection/phishing-scams
