S24 Ultra TB unlocked - super slow battery charging and charging interrupt issues.

I ordered two S24 Ultra 1TB unlocked phone which I've had a little under two weeks.  The phone I acquired for m colleague works fine, while mine has been an utter disaster battery wise. 

It takes 2.67 hours to charge the battery from ~5% to 92% and then charging stops.  I unplug and then re-plug the charger and the phone then continues to charge to 100%.

I have an S23 Ultra and two S22+s, and of course, many Super-Fast Chargers.  All other phones as expected on my SPFs, only the new S24Ultra does not.  Also, the S24 has all the same apps as my S23Ultra as I did a Samsung Smart switch - so its not like I installed a mystery app that foils charging.

I spent three hours with Samsung support.  We did trouble shooting including a Cache Purge reset and nothing changed.  They same behavior is experience whether I charge the phone while on or let it go to 0% shut down, and then charge the phone while keeping it powered off. 

However, when the phone reaches 92% with the phone powered off (again after almost 3 hours of charging), a yellow triangle with an exclamation point appears with an image of a USB C with a line across it (I don't know it this is to indicate a port or USB C cable problem or both or neither).  These events happen (both powered on and off)  with all the super-fast chargers and to repeat, all the other phones work as predicted on each of these super-fast chargers.  And as another note, the super fast charging notice shows at the bottom of the S24 screen whether powered on or off.

Support indicated that this might be a software issue, but that did not make sense.  

They finally recommended a phone replacement which I am not thrilled about.

Any thoughts?

Update to my original post.

I received the replacement phone: AND,

After being disgusted about my second 1TB S24 Unlocked Ultra also charging super slow AND charging to 90-92% and then stopping, I did the following:

I bought a new Samsung OEM 45W charger and cable from Amazon Samsung's store.

It arrived, I used it for a first S24 charge AND THE PHONE CHARGED FAST (as advertised) AND WITHOUT IT STOPPING CHARGING BEFORE 100%.

I WAS using old 25W and 45W Samsung Super Fast Chargers chargers with a variety of cables before.  These chargers and cables still Super Fast Charge my S23Ultra, S22+ & iPhone 15 Pro Max BUT NOT THE S24s.

Either the S24 charging port hardware OR software is very sensitive/faulty.

While I am happy to find the fix, I am extremely disappointed in Samsung to have manufacture a device that is so sensitive & finnicky.

This is defo not normal, I would get the phone replaced. I also had some battery issues, which was resolved after replacement.

Send it back for replacement under warranty if your friends phone works OK

similar problem here, 1st S24 ultra stopped charging on my samsung  25w charger and i have connected on the galaxy pro book 45w charger, it start to charge very slow, from drained to 100% about 3 and a half hours. Than battery drains in few hours. I had replacement that had arrived last week, was ok for a week and i had the same issue. To double check, I have charged the phone on 100% at 4:30 am, turned it off. Put it back on at 1:30pm phone had 48% battery. I talked to almost unhelpful support again and i did all what they asked me to do but no luck.

I was advised to call sales and order different colour (mine was titanium black, both phones) but they told me that they cannot do that so they will refund my payment 7-10 days after they receive the phone back.  So since i pay this new phone on 17th of Jan 24 until today 7th march 24 i was out of phone for about 3 weeks. Samsung lack customer service and  solutions.

I am so sorry.

I have had to spend innumerable hours to get a resolution to my broken phone.  A second phone arrived, but I had the abilityh to fund Samsung's working capital by funding both the broken phone and the new phone.

I am still owed money for the first broken phone but the second phone, after fits and starts, seems to be finally working (there was a firmware update in between so it is hard to say why the phone is now finally charging/discharging as promised).

I now fully understand why buyers prefer buying from Verizon, ATT et. al. rather than Samsung directly.

The carriers care about their clients who pay on a monthly basis. Samsung only cares about a device sale and that is why its customer service is so pathetic as compare to the cell carriers (whose service is also pathetic but less so than Samsung).

I am having almost the same issue, when I plug in my phone it says "50 min until charge" but after 50 min only 1% has gone up, I have tired everything and the only answer I get from "Samsung Experts" is that it might be a hardware issue, now they have to open up the phone and check if its the charging port. I'm very unsatisfied, and stressed about this problem the phone is not even 3 months old and I'm having issues already. if you find a way to fix your phone let me know

I am having the same problems with my S24 Ultra. I have tried charging it with Samsung 45 watt PPS charger, an Anker 65 watt PPS charger and Anker 737. While the phone gives a charging time of 1h-07m, the actual charging time varies between 1h-40m to 1h-50m without any usage during charging. It seems to me that Samsung has cheated its customers by making incorrect claims regarding phone charging time. My fast charging option is enabled on the phone.
