The sim card tray is on the bottom of the phone next to the USB-C charging port.
In regards to screen protectors there are some many manufacturers to choose from at varying prices.
First decision would be to go with a tpu plastic screen protector ir a tempered glass screen protector.
Some will affect the anti reflective display so it's not as anti reflective anymore.
Have a look on samsung.com for the tpu plastic screen protector as they should be available or be available soon.
Have a look on amazon too and mobilefun.com
Personally I use the Samsung Official versions or the Whitestone Dome Glass Screen Protector however they are not inexpensive but are incredibly good @PowderedToastMan
I wouldn't recommend the glass versions that just have adhesive around their edges.
I wouldn't recommend to go for the cheapest as they don't always give the best protection and stand up too well to everyday use.
There should be reviews on YouTube for most screen protectors.
Try to check the one's your interested in are case friendly if you use a case. By that i mean the case won't conflict with the screen protector causing it to lift.
If I can be of any further help then please don't hesitate. Take care. 😎

For my S20 I've used the Spigen NeoFlex protector which is much better with the fingerprint sensor although maybe doesn't give it quite the same level of protection. So far my screen is fine apart from a small area where I dropped the phone on rough hard ground.

I think there isn't a yes or no answer to that question. The screen is resistant but not 100%.
If the user won't plan to keep the phone for long, and it is very careful with the phone, it might not be necessary to have a screen protector. Otherwise, it might be highly recommended.
Another factor to consider, it is cost. Accidents do happen, and replacing a £12 protector seems more economic than replacing the screen itself, a bit like insurance. Replacing the screen also implies being without a phone for the repair period.
I have the S22 Ultra and got a wallet case. My phone is pristine conditions, I did not pay a lot for the case and has protected my £1500 phone quite well. All is not advantages, I need to open the case, it does not show the phone on all its beauty, extra cost, etc.
I order the S24 Ultra and I think that I will be using some sort of extra protection, but I do understand that this is a very personal decision. Some people like their phone totally "naked" and that is fine as well.

Personally I think I might get the Samsung two pack as they are supposed to be anti reflective, maybe don't offer the best protection tho as they're only soft film, as Reylob said it's a personal choice 👍

My post specifically said the plus model.
Whenever I search anything for the plus everything seems to redirect to Ultra.
For starters it's more than I'm willing to pay.
Secondly even if it wasn't, it's bloody huge. Much too large for me. I handled the S23 Ultra & it's just a no. I'm actually taking a bit of a gamble going for the plus over the S24.
But yeah everyone seems to think you're always talking about the Ultra.

Weirdly my wife who obviously has smaller hands than me, she loves larger phones. She previously had an A71. I'm not sure how that stacks up in size vs the Ultra but yeah that was a bit of a large phone too.
Maybe after running the plus for a few years (because I plan on keeping it for a good while) I'd be more willing to opt for an Ultra.... If they even did them by that point.

I was looking at the FlexKlearGlasss hybrid one at just shut of £20 for 1.
Watched the video on Amazon. Not sure if it was because I was tired last night or what but part of the process made me wonder about it as it mentioned something along the lines of applying the second protector. I thought there'd be only 1.
