S24 Plus upgrade to S25 Edge

I have had an S24 Plus since its release date.  I'm planning on an upgrade to the S25 Edge.  I've already seen lots of reviews and videos, so I'm fully aware of the comparison specs.

In terms of the S25 Edge specs relative to the S24 Plus capabilities.... I always use 25w charging on the S24 Plus. I don't use wireless charging.  I don't use the telephoto camera.  I don't use the phone for gaming or high power usage apps, I'm always within 3 or 4 hours of a charger  - including a car charger for top up charging while out and about or while driving, so the S25 Edge's battery capacity seems to be fine for my usage.

The S24 Plus that I have, has the Exynos processor.  The S25 Edge has Snapdragon.

The S25 Edge will be significantly cheaper in terms of monthly rates than my current S24+ and surely cheaper than upgrading to the S26 series next year.

I don't need or want the extra size and weight of the Ultra, whether it be the 24 Ultra or 25 Ultra or waiting for the S26 Ultra.  But the standard S24 / S25 or future S26 (standard model) is a bit too small for my liking.

Am I missing anything out? Does the S25 Edge seem like a good choice for me to upgrade to?

You are not missing anything out 😃

S25 Edge feels very sleek in person. So does every other model, but Edge especially...

When a phone calls out to you.... You go and buy it. 😊

Seems like you have done your homework with regards to your needs and wants.

When I trialled the flip 6 It felt so slim and thin and I loved using it folded and I did mention in one of my post that there was no excuse for Samsung to build one like a bar shaped. And they came up with the Edge.

I'm an Ultra user though. Just for the cameras.

I've tried one in person, but it was in a shop, attached to one of those anti theft things, so I couldn't get the full idea of weight or how slim it is, but I did get a pretty good idea at least.

Thanks for the reply and for the encouragement, yeah I've looked into it thoroughly, I've had an S Series 'Plus' model ever since the S10 came out so I'm very familiar with the S Series style and One UI etc.

The only time I've ever used the telephoto lens was to take photos of the moon (which I posted on here) the photos were great but don't really require having an S Series Ultra zoom just to take a moon photo once every 6 months depending on cloud cover - which for me is all it was used for.

I assume my original post is in the right part of the forum, with this being the S24 section and I'm asking about the S25 Series hopefully you / and others are familiar with both series and their differences and improvements.

I personally prefer the extra 3x and 5x lenses for portraits as I love close up face shots.

I moved from S9+ > S21 ultra > S24 ultra > S25 ultra.

Being an S series lover I love the rounded corners vs the body design.

I guess for most people not wanting the Edge would be battery and lack of camera lense which as you mentioned wouldn't be an issue for you but could be a deal breaker for some one like me.

All I can say is look up as much video reviews on the S25 edge on YouTube as you can to give a nice all rounder idea on how it fits you.

I never had an S9 or an S21.  I went from S6 to S10 to S20+ to S22+ to S24+ The cameras for photos and videos on the S24 Plus (not the telephoto) have always been very good for me, so I'm assuming  the S25 Edge with the 200MP camera will be even better.

Do you (or anyone) have any advice specific to using the S25 Edge for example - don't restrict charging to 80% due to the smaller battery size, or are things like that going to depend on personal usage patterns.

Again there is no one rule with regards to charging.

One UI 8 has different options so you could see how 80% charge lasts you on the Edge as keeping your battery between 20%-80% is ideal for its longevity.
Again most newer phones go well past 3-4 years before you notice any battery issue.

Mine is on basic and adaptive as am an overnight charger so it stops at 80% and then trickle charges to 100% just before I wake up .

Definitely more pocketable than S25 Plus, if the tele lens isn't important to you...
