Potentially daft sim card question

Hello people!

I got my new phone and took the option of an esim over a physical one.

Long story short, I messed up setting the esim up, and decided to use the physical sim card I had for the phone I just left for this one.

Will this affect my contract, as I asked to use the esim and I'm using a physical one instead? Or can I just keep on using my old sim card as I prefer it this way. It's the same phone number for both types of sim.

Not affecting the contract but you need to call your provider to reissue the physical card and disable esim
