Poor battery life + Camera

The battery life so far has been poor. I've switched from the iphone 13 pro max to the samsung galaxy s24 ultra and so far my experience is the battery life on my iphone seemed to be much longer. I'd get 5-6 hours screen on time with heavy usage but with my s24 I've drained 70% of the battery with 3 hours screen on time and moderate usage. 

I'm somewhat underwhelmed by the camera too, especially the post processing in the automated post processing in the gallery. I really want to love this phone, but I can't right now. 

Anyone have any advice or their own experiences to share? I've had the phone two days and I'm considering sending it back.

The battery and phone will be in the initial learning phase which takes 1~2 Weeks approximately to conclude @fuzz 

The new update hitting the phone's is designed to improve the camera and vivid settings for the display. 

The Device Care Section under Battery should help to highlight what apps are using the battery along with the optimisation tool found there too.

From what I've seen from other people's comments here and on reddit is the battery life didn't significantly improve after this learning phase and frankly two weeks causes difficulty with my window to return. I'm willing to give it a few more days but much longer than that and I'll probably return.

When's the new update for the camera coming out?

The software update is out now. 

Have a look in your phone's software update section to see if it's available for your phone yet. 

Battery stats is a subjective topic as we all set up our phone's differently and use different apps etc and use them differently. 

I get two days of usage but the above applies.

After the initial learning period, this is the highest usage day. I'm finding the battery life excellent.

Thank you for this, how many days was your learning period?

Mine improved after a few days. I did have to remove a Peugeot app as I thought my phone was going to set on fire it was so hot. It used 22% of my battery in about 15 minutes. I think some apps need optimising for android 14.

The battery life of this phone is incredibly impressive. It is a significant improvement compared to my previous Samsung S22 Ultra with the Exynos processor. With my previous phone, I had to charge it multiple times a day. However, with this phone, I can still have plenty of battery life left at the end of the day, even after extensive usage.

Did you do a smarthswitch transfer?

I did. Would it be worth backing up to samsung cloud and factory resetting? Why would it make a difference?
