Phone Link "default" button greyed out for S24

I've been using MS Phone Link with my A52 for about a year. I love it. To transfer files, I just go to File Explorer, copy and paste. I upgraded to the S24 ultra, linked it the Phone Link with no problem, but ... no S24 in File Explorer. I went to "manage devices"...and the A52 was set as default, while the set to default button for the S24 is greyed out! Only option in the drop down is to delete the device!

I deleted the A52...didn't need it in there any longer...and the A52 disappeared from File Explorer, but the S24 was still greyed out, and it didn't appear in File Explorer. I restarted both phone and computer. Still grey. I deleted the S24 from Phone link, restarted, relinked...still grey. And still doesn't appear in File Explorer. I have to assume if it isn't set as the "default", it's not going to appear in File Explorer.

As far as I've been able to figure, Phone Link has complete access to the phone, everything works fine in the Phone Link computer app, and I could just copy and paste photos one at a time, but talk about annoying! I just want to get the default set to my shiny new s24 and the phone into File Explorer.

Anyone have any ideas?

For some reason, my reply didn't post. Sorry if this is duplicate. Thanks so much for responding. I'd tried everything they suggested, EXCEPT for the "allow to show in File Explorer" because that wasn't an option in the app. I dug...and dug...and dug into the Win11 settings and finally found it. Not, I might add, where MS said it should be. It was toggled on, but I turned it off and back on...and finally got the phone into Explorer. I'm going to try to find the toggle again. If I can, I'll post the circuitous route it took to get there. :face-with-tears-of-joy: Thanks again.
