Can't toggle off 5g Standalone, Galaxy S24

I have a question about how to turn off 5G. I just got a new S24, and it's not letting me switch to LTE from the Mobile Networks settings. There's a "5G standalone" button that's toggled on, but greyed out so I can't turn it off. I'm in an area where the phone keeps going from 5G to 5G+, and 5G+ is completely unusable, nothing loads. Anyone know what to do?

Hi! Welcome to the samsung members community!

Should be able to go to settings- connections- Mobile networks- LTE.

Though in honesty if 5g isnt working id recommend contacting your provider 1745868833409.jpg

If the normal method johnz mentioned doesn't seem to work, you can access the developer network settings with an app like force lte, then change set preferred network type to only select the protocols you want. That being LTE, WCDMA and GSM

As I mentioned in my post, I don't have that option. Reddit seems to indicate that it's been purposefully hidden with new updates.Screenshot_20250428_123800_Call settings.jpg

Look at the battery icon, that'll be one ui 6. That settings page also looks super strange. Almost as if it isn't a samsung device. My guess is it's an AT&T custom thing on a locked phone.

Wait, it says AT&T. Thats an american cell carrier, with an american locked phone. This is a uk forum...

So for the original issue. 5G standalone and 5G+ aren't avaliable in the uk. So we have have no experience or ideas on changing things. You also have a heavily customised phone by your cell carrier, you have settings only a few american phones have. Since this is the uk forum, again, we have no experience with them.

Try the american samsung members forum

(Technically 5G standalone is a thing here but not in the same way it works for you so I'm pretending it doesn't exist here. We don't get a setting for it)

Ah apologies, I am sitting in the US and yet this forum is where Samsung led me, lol.
