Selfie camera wont flip and is reversed

When I first got the phone the selfie camera worked properly, and took selfies without flipping/reversing - so happy I could take selfies properly and text would read the right way at last (my old Galaxy had the flipping problem which I could never resolve). Then one day it reverted to reversing the picture. Oh no. Here we go again. But I googled it and found the way to correct it in the settings. Which worked. That time. But now...I can toggle the 'save selfies as previewed' camera setting on and off and it makes absolutely no difference. How can I get this sorted out? Why does this happen? It seems a pretty basic function so why is it so hard to resolve?

I have been testing the camera - when I try a selfie with setting toggled off, it looks to me as though text behind me is reversed, but the actual photo appears the right way round. When I toggle on the setting, again still looks reversed to me but it remains reversed in the photo as well. Which way round should it work? And why does it not change the preview/what I can see before I take the selfie?

Save selfies when previewed should be turned off... if you want the saved picture to read the writing in the correct way. If you turn this on then the writing will be backwards.

However I believe the actual screen viewfinder will always show backwards... it is just the saved picture that will reverse itself.

It does work fine with my Galaxy s25u and fold 6 phones running oneui7.

If you are having problems I would recommend long pressing the camera icon in the menu, click on the 'i'... select storage... and then clear the app cache.

If it isnt working with the selfie setting then it hopefully is a temporary issue.

I dont however have an s24 to test this with.

Thanks for some advice - my camera selfie preview did show with text the right way round originally... so thats why its very annoying that it no longer do so. I have tried clearing the camera cache as you suggested. Have restarted phone too just to see if it saves the setting - have tried selfie mode once again - the selfie setting is toggled off and still shows as a reversed image for me in the preview, but the resulting photo does show text behind me the right way round. That's a partial solution so I will have to settle for that I guess.
