[ONE UI 7] - Messaging Apps

Lovely People ..

Seems like Samsung is bent on getting rid of Samsung messages in favour of google messages as on One UI 7 there is no Samsung messages available to download in the Samsung store.

Samsung Messages still works on One UI 7 beta though but we dont know whether it will work on the final version and also if you will be able to reinstall it back if you uninstall it.

Im still holding on to Samsung messages for now.

The below video showcases some cool stuff about google messages and find a lot of similarities to whatsapp so dont really see the benefit myself.

There are also rumours whatsapp will.have some kind of AI as well.

Which one is your preference between. Samsung messages, google messages and whatsapp ?

Right now I've been using Google messages for so long that im used to it now.
Samsung messages is definitely going, not really sure why.
Possibly because consumers use so many different types of message apps. The usage of Samsung messages is now at a point that there's no reason to keep it and spend on developing it anymore

Google Messages is 100x better than WhatsApp. In WhatsApp you can get malware, scum and viruses. Not in Google Messages. 

RCS is main reason why Samsung Messages is dead app.

It's encouraging that Samsung Messages is still working with Samsung One Ui⁷ Beta , however as most are aware Samsung Messages is being fazed out in favour of Google Messages.

it will be interesting to see when people start downloading the finished version of One Ui⁷ whether Samsung Messages is still on their phone's 

My thoughts are is it will.

To answer your question : My preference is Samsung Messages.

But you really shouldn't have. While I prefer Google Messages, I think Samsung Messages will survive as long as major European carriers like T-Mobile support chat. Many in Europe still use Samsung Messages, and Google Messages is overshadowed by WhatsApp because people have a hard time changing habits and anyone who uses WhatsApp probably isn't even aware that they already have a similar app (Google Messages) on their Android.

I used Samsung messages for like ever. Then, it kept prompting me to switch over to Google. I did switch, reluctantly.

Although now I'm quite happy with the experience I was a little worried over the safety as it was Google. Still not 100% on what's the way forward but I do tend to use WhatsApp the most.

I use Google messages but I only came back to Samsung about 3 years ago so was used to using it. My family use WhatsApp for video calling and sending pictures and videos. Thi came about during the covid lockdown. Most of my family use apple phones so WhatsApp is good cus it's cross platform. You can only get viruses if you open messages from people you don't know. Spam is very rare on WhatsApp. It would be interesting to see if Samsung messages is installed with One UI 7.
