Message App Crashing

Message app constantly crashing even when just open for a few seconds. 

No phone or app updates to install. 

Rebooted phone and still no joy.

Any recommendations?

happening to mine, found a thread on the US community, seems they cant find a fix for it and they are having issues too.

And mine... updated software, cleared cache - no joy. Can't find out how to delete app and reinstall - any thoughts?

In the US they are saying to disable google meets app?, but I do not have that so it is a no go for me

 Ne've received some reports from other users facing issues with accessing the Samsung Messages application. We have identified the cause of the issue as a recent Google Meets app update, and we have reported the issue to Google for further investigation. To restore functionality to the Samsung Messages app, we'd recommend performing the following:

 Navigate to Settings > Apps > Meet > Disable.

 Please try this and let us know if the issue continues to occur

Just tried this on mine and 'seems' to work again now, I was looking for an app called 'google meets' not 'meets'

Disabled MEET on my phone, I can now message again. Thank you

Mine has been crashing too, since this morning. Have just done as advised on another comment (even though I dont use 'meets')
settings>apps>meets>disable (I also removed permissions) and it 'seems' to have worked.-UK
