Google is providing update quickly. The phone manufacturers are the problem. In the case of the s25 series, samsung are the ones pausing the updates for some reason. Probably an issue on their specific devices.

Google made a whole second update system to ensure fast updates when phone companies were being slow

Maybe, but I notice a trend, that Samsung is trying to use their own features instead of third parties ones. Maybe is cheaper, maybe they are trying to prove they can create themselves. I don't know, but as long as my phone works, I am OK with whenever the updates come. I only want them to provide for the price I payed for this device, the features that it needs to live up to the price.

To be specific, this is the menu I'm talking about. This was added by a google update and was within google settings. As of maybe a week ago, the button now sends you to this samsung settings page. Still the same feature as every other android phone. Just samsung made it look the same as the rest of their settings. Issue is, since this feature is made and updated by google, samsung made any update to this system potentially cause compatability errors, meaning samsung might have to pause updates to make sure they work.

So tldr, google being good and providing updates, samsung wanting to customise them, samsung pausing them presumably because their customisations make future updates not work as they should

And about third party features, samsung actually has more than any other phone manufacturer. Loads of settings require you agree to another company to use something. Such as the inbuilt anti virus product being a collaboration with mcafee or the samsung keyboard using grammarly

Anyway, Samsung S24 Ultra has Google updates from January 2025 and the latest one from February 2025.

My mums A25 has got the update. So I'm guessing other samsung phones have got it also. Apart from S25 series. Samsung needs to do something and not pause the update. I would rather have a more up to date update.

that update screwed my s24u more now the battery drains faster samsung is doing them stupid updates just to mess older devices up to make you buy the s25u nope not me I got a google pixel pro xl good riddance s24u if anyone wants a freeeee s24u 1 tb titanium blue its along the freeway some place I tossed out the window for good..

get a pixel 9 pro xl much better and will have android 16 in June mines been on android 15 since last august samsung is out dated and old the copy apple too much
