Lock screen issue

Hi all , latest one UI 7.0 , since updating, occasionally when I double tap to unlock my phone the widgets and clock are not there , there's just the background where they should be , anyone else noticed this ?

Yea, I also have that so called "glitter" effect on new messages.
Tried disabling all notification popup and what not, but it still does it.

Not sure what the cause is on my side but it looks to be that particular app.

I have since been i8n touch with the dev of the app and he is keen to help, but cannot reproduce it on his side.

But then again, he is using a Z Flip 5 and I have the S24FE, so not sure if there might be some difference in the new UI 7 software...

But since disabling that app, problem is sorted.

OH, the dev of the app does have a few other app that do a similar thing, and I get the same issue with all of them, so it's definitely something to do with the way the app calls or addresses the system to draw over the other apps.

I'm no dev or expert, so have no clue... 😶🤣

Bit of an update on this , I have a mode set so that if I get a message notification I still get edge lighting even though " pop up " is turned off in app settings ( edge lighting relies on pop up being on ) this worked absolutely fine with 6.1 and after updating to 7.0 it's causing my aod to go off and make the widgets blank as in my first post , just had another update patch and this still isn't fixed !!

Quick question. Have you perhaps made any changes in Dev Mode for the display?

Enabling Dev Mode is always one of the first things I do on a new phone and I run through it to see what, if any, new settings can be changed in there.

But as far as I am aware, I haven't made any changes my side.

I also did a full reset on my phone, BUT restored the backups! Problem was still there after that, so wondering if I do a full reset without restoring backups if that might sort it out and some other package might be at fault then?

But I just have so much on my phone as I use it for work purposes and personal...

LOL! Anyone got a spare S24FE I can use? 😂😂😂

Only thing I do in dev options is disable absolute volume and animation scale to 0.5 , I've done cache wipe after each update but still same , I've actually cleared data in modes app to see if that makes a difference and set it up again, just waiting for a message to check ! I'm like you , lots to sort if I do a factory reset , I'm holding out hopefully for a fix rather than a reset

Yea, I think this is rather a unique kind of issue than a common issue.

You are basically th only other person I know with this problem, and we don't even have the same software that causes it...

As I mentioned, everything works 100%, but as soon as I turn on the Energy Ring app, it eventually bombs out on the lock screen.

Even the apps developer is stumped and can't replicate the issue.

My wife has the A55, got the UI 7 update 2 days agin and everything is working 100%, even the Energy Ring app...

So this is why I'm starting to wonder if it isn't maybe something or some setting we have on our phones that is interfering or cause this issue under a certain circumstances...

The other thing that I am wondering is that when you restore your phone from a back, it uses the old version of the apps and sometimes they get "stuck" with updating because it tells you they can't be updated because they weren't installed from Google Store.

If I see that, I update from Google store, or remove and reinstall. But just a lot of app I use...

Any thoughts from your side?

Yes it's definitely a unique situation we both have , tbh I never restore from a back up after a reset if I'm having an issue , if everything worked fine then that's different, there's definitely something on your S24 that's interfering and not on your wife's A55 , I take it you cleared data and uninstalled the app on your phone and put it back on and it's still playing up?

Yup. Done it all.

But it's just that one app, or basically every one from this same guy that's causes my issue.

I tried some of his other apps that all do the same and get the same result.

Anyways. Turned it off, phone works as it should.

One day, more time will be mine and I will be able to run through the finer things and maybe find something...

I've just noticed when I receive a notification the edge lighting doesn't " pulse " like it should ( it's set to basic ) it just stays fixed like it's frozen then off it goes , weird though that it's not every time !

I use the "brief option" with a glitter effect. Looks cool! 😁 Works as it always does...
