S22U LDAC in dev options has been working great for ages. Same options with same earphones in S24U won't work. LDAC options greyed out...

Anyone know a fix?

Are you using Sony earbuds?

Hi - No, Technics AZ60s. They work perfectly on my S22U and have done for ages.

Hmm, that has stumped me. LDAC is a code developed by Sony. I use Sennheiser and the only options I get are Qualcomm aptx, and the standard bluetooth connections. LDAC is shaded out. When I connected my Sony earbuds, LDAC would be selected. I was not aware LDAC can be accessed by other brands.

I'm no expert by any means. I've attached two pics - the first are the options on S24U & the second with S22U. In both cases I was listening to Spotify with the Technics.1706402737793.jpg20240127_224756_1000014926_1706395682.jpg

LDAC is developed by Sony, but anybody who pays the license is able to use it on their own devices.

I do not know if Technics AZ60s supports it, but it was working before, it should. It could be just some bug that will get fixed on the first big firmware upgrade.

There already rumours of first software update for the S24 series.

That was expected, but I do not know how reliable the post on X is. I think that there is a good chance of this happening soon, based on previous experience.

So a nice person on Reddit helped me guys. I didn't have to do this on S22 hence my confusion - simply hit Details within Bluetooth settings, then hit the gear icon next to the device - then hit LDAC.

Have you AZ60s? It definitely works. On Spotify change your quality to Very High. Also - simply hit Details within Bluetooth settings, then hit the gear icon next to the device - then hit LDAC.
