I got One UI 7 on my Galaxy S24 Ultra and I hate every single change. It is such a big drawback for me, that it's almost a showstopper. I used Galaxy S phone since the S III and I have never been so disappointed.
Is there a way to remove this mess and go back to the previous UI?

Such a waste... been of fan of android phones for over 15 years and I feel like this last UI is such a disappointment... running on a Galaxy Tab Z Fold 4, as soon as the new UI got installed, it slowed down my phone like crazy! It's been several hours since the update and simply trying to swipe down to adjust the brightness, it lags like crazy.... battery seams to be draining a lot quicker and the new swipe down thing now is such a disappointment... personally, I don't see the point in changing the UI on older phones if it works just fine... Samsung and Android.. you've let me down pushing for this change... That's my rumble for the day. lol

On top of the UI changes that doesn't make any sense, there's many other serious bugs, too.

I lasted 2 days with this update before going back to 6.1.1 It wasn't difficult.
The more annoying part is finding all the different places I had to shut off the phone's ability to update on its own.
If Samsung doesn't undo much of the damage this update did, this will be my last Samsung phone and that would be a shame since I started with the original Galaxy.

Hi - I just downgraded to UI6. There's you tube video's on how to do it and the Android14 firmware is available to download from a gazillion different sites . It was a 15gb download! But i'm back on Android 14 (u16) and have disabled auto updates! So happy I could cry. I didn't even care if I bricked my expensive phone. I was ready to smash it with a hammer anyway.

thats a bit dramatic. it isnt that bad. the only thing that sucks about it is you cant use dex for PC anymore. so unless something replaces that, i'll be looking else ware for my next phone. that, and of course the stupid captcha and 2-factor authentification to log into this to reply.

i asked chatgpt... i had the same issue. so... there is a product, you can use, opensource, that uses miracast for windows. which give you the dex desktop via a remote screen. it worked for me but its buggy. mouse was not working on the miracast.
then using another produc, scrcpy, and enabling debug mode, with a usb cable, you can remote controle the phone perfectly, but without dex.
so... unless i really need DEX or if i really hate this upadte ui 7, i will not roll back... i took my last android 14 raw image in case, and following some online guide, with Odin, i might roll back.

"isn't that bad"? 🤣 Just gotta trawl the good ole "Google Machine" to see how incorrect that statement is for loads of people Even Samsung admitted they stuffed up with IU7 before it's release? "

And I’ll take being dramatic any day - over being indifferent and accepting of being treated poorly

Yes, there is to go back to One UI 6.1. You need to downgrade using Odin and the respective FW for your phone. I just did it for S21 FE and it worked flawlessly. You are lucky you are with S24 and not with S25, because the S25 comes with One UI 7 and there is nothing to go back to.

Access to Dex is impossible. Before it came up with one swipe. Why would you discontinue things rather than add.
