Hello @Angieredsky and may I extend a Warm Welcome to the Samsung Community Forum 👋
Your phone no longer has a sd card slot so you are unable to insert it inside like you have done with your previous phone.
Now it's best practice to purchase a phone with ample internal storage capacity to future proof the phone , and use one of the many online vaults.
i.e I use Dropbox personally.
If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask 😎
Daily Driver > Samsung Galaxy s²⁵ Ultra 512Gb ~ Titanium Black.
The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

Hi @Angieredsky
Memory cards have not been supported on the S series for a few generations.
As @Blessed4life suggested, you will need a USB C adapter. Another alternative is to get a SSD USB external drive for transferring data to and from your phone. They are very fast.

Unfortunately, Samsung decided to copycat the Apple products in removing the microSD slot. Several excuses were given, including MicroSD not being a newer technology, as well as Cloud storage becoming "More Popular". In truth, what is more popular varies per market, and part of this messaging was designed to sway others' opinions to align with the cost down decision to remove the connector, paired with the drive to demand higher product pricing by forcing the purchase of pre-installed onboard storage, or to encourage a shift towards online storage. In some ways, their decision was a self-fulfilling drive to meet the needs of a target audience, with the change causing device cost to escalate, making the product less accessible to many, and instead putting this flagship series only an option to many who care less about larger internal storage capacity (e.g. 1TB), and instead are more focused on the convenience of cloud storage (despite the reduced privacy it may entail).
The last remaining choices for optional internal microSD storage are to go with the lower performance series models. Hopefully, Samsung will get "smart" again soon, as I'll hold onto my Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G, pending the return of the internal microSD feature for a next upgrade, or at least until this one dies, and can no longer be found on the market NIB/NOS.
