Hi,
As its been said many times online I HATE the new samsung update, I HATE iphones and apple products, thats why i've always had samsung, now this is like having an apple overnight. If I knew they were gona do this i'd of bought a pixel.

But theres two features I really need help with changing if anyone knows please?

1st of all is there a way to delete the bar at the top where my music plays? (Usually spotify) it irritates me no end, the writing even moves when i'm trying to do things on my phone. I really DO NOT need to see this and if I do I really don't want it to move.

Secondly I don't want the search bar for my apps at the bottom, I want it at the top like the old days (2 days ago lol)

Any help would help me so so much. I figured myself from you tube how to change that AWFUL AWFUL swipe down thing, where it brought up only notifications, unless you swiped in a tiny little bit in the right hand corner. Wish I could meet who came up with this genius new update.

3rd question is there anywhere you can complain? Quite sure would make no difference but i'd like these clowns know a lot aren't happy.

Thanks

I'm with you in this I'm not sure why you are getting mocked by all the samsung maxis. As the biggest hardware manufacturer deploying android then samsung must have know this was coming and been able to influence the design. I am equally bemused by the app search now being at the bottom of the screen and no it doesn't help with one handed search on a big phone. Mind-boggling how samsung and Google contrived this change as something that would benefit users. Withought making it easily changed back! Aparantly you can add the Google search bar on the home screen but then you need to find space on that and I'm not sure it will help you find your apps

I keep seeing it being said that the search bar at the bottom of the app draw is a Google thing. If you have a look at a pixel phone you'll find the search bar is at the bottom. Samsung uses it's own custom launcher so it was Samsung that decided to put it at the bottom. See attached pic of the app draw on the pixel launcher.uulHcJDIZ7.jpg

Yeah it's a complete joke yet a lot of these on here are butt hurt and towing the samsung company line.

If they bothered to look at the rest of the feeling online and take a minute from their samsung kool aid drinking lives they'd realise a massive % update and Samsung are as responsible

So no news as to when we can get rid of this ridiculous new ui. The silly power pill and the bloated volume display. It's like going from something sleek and minimal to fat yank hamburger.

Can these be modded away with a theme? Or are we stuck with melted cheese and grease flowing all about?

Hi, @PearsonB. Thanks for taking the time to post. I had to remove some of your replies from the thread, as you were being abusive to other Community users.

This is a family-friendly forum and, while I appreciate that it can be frustrating when things aren't working as you might like, we have to intervene when the exchanges become unnecessarily personal or off-topic.

If you get the opportunity, I recommend having a look at the thread below:

https://eu.community.samsung.com/t5/news-rules-faqs/samsung-community-standards/m-p/11997979#M1012

Please be assured that we do take onboard all feedback, and I'm sorry that the One UI 7 software update hasn't quite met your expectations yet. It's worth noting that your phone remains highly customisable and software updates will continue to be rolled out to implement constructive suggestions and add more polish.

As you know, the S24 Series of devices will continue to receive software updates for many more years to come, so you can look forward to more refinements (in conjunction with Google).

I should also note that, while it is a Samsung Community (and that you'll see many users here who love their devices and are delighted with the latest software update), you'll have noticed that the feedback here is always honest. However, as with anything in life, there will be a degree of subjectivity in what different people need, want, like, and dislike.

Where there are issues, we're here to help. 👍

Please ensure you keep your communications here respectful, though, as it just makes for a better experience for everyone (and keeps the threads on-point).

If you've any questions or concerns at all, please let us know.

Fair enough. I have edited them myself didnt mean to offend. That tech killer has a bad attitude and felt like he was bullying me. But its done now.

Maybe the forum stars ought to look at the wording they're using, it's skirting right on the edge of abusive and trolling to users who are rightfully upset about bad updates and unwanted imposed changes. I certainly would have blocked the update if I'd know about the bloated mess of a ui we have now.

Some recourse to being able to fix it would be nice.

But I prefer it this new way. Why do your opinions about it matter more than mine? I'm sure I'm not the only one too, just because it was done "wrong" before, doesn't mean we all liked it. The difference really is I tolerated that stupid design, so the adjustment is a much welcome change.

I have no solutions....but I agree I hate everything about the new updates, particularly the App search at the bottom and having to pull down different directions to quickly (or now not so quickly) get to silence my phone. I am not getting used to it and just want it as it was, which was ideal for me.
