The iPhone has been out for a while.

Samsung should be releasing camera updates over the coming months.

I feel it needs to sort out the blown highlights which seem to crop up again and again in these comparisons.

I hope they take some ideas from the vivo x100 pro especially for portraits and the glorious bokeh and skin tones.

Will know for sure when people receive their phones next week.

I'm not gonna lie. I have high hopes as well especially with what the competition is spewing out with the snapdragon gen3 chip.

If you see other videos they have made some really good progress in other areas of the camera in terms of video , stabilisation, zoom animations etc.

So just hoping they fix these things quick.

Pre release software remember, Samsung typically releases alot of updates in the first few months of a new phone.

Having just watched that review, it's again some wins to s24 and some to the iPhone. Kind of irrelevant if you're not into the iOS ecosystem, but agree it's helpful to benchmark.

Cameras have their swings and roundabouts.
Personally I wouldn't look at a YouTubers views and take them as read. They are usually biased to brand loyalty or personal preferences when editing their videos.
Especially ones like that as it's a company with financial interests in getting as many views as possible.
I can compare my S23 Ultra, Z Fold 5 and my iPhone 15 Pro Max and give my views.
I can easily make each camera look better than the other.

For my personal view, as a hobby photographer.
The S23 Ultra is where it's all at. I have Pro mode and Expert RAW.
Can use the S Pen as a remote shutter button etc.
Yes my iPhone cameras are brilliant, but my S23 Ultra is my goto phone camera.
I see no reason why the S24 Ultra won't be the same or better.

But you will see when you get it. I'd advise if you watch videos like this, remember that it's their opinion and how they setup and edit photos. You will have your own way and make up your own mind when you get it.
Definitely don't regret it because of someone else's opinion.
I'm sure you are going to love it.

Lets be honest. Iphone IS the benchmark. I'm not an Apple guy but I will give them their due credit. When they have a feature, they do it the BEST. Even little things like the animation when zooming in from 1x to 3x. Samsung are now just getting smoother animations for that. But I agree, I'm sure after a few software updates it might be better. We will see. I don't wana regret pre ordering
