Smart Switch

When I transfer from one phone to another one I normally do it over WiFi. I back up WhatsApp and delete the app then reinstall on new phone and download the back up from Drive. The home screen etc reinstall from my Samsung account but does Smart Switch transfer everything without losing any chats from WhatsApp etc and do I have to worry about backing up things to my Samsung account? 

Cheers for your advice in advance. Got the S24 Ultra being delivered next week. Looking forward to my annual treat to myself.

Smart switch does not transfer your WhatsApp messages. You have to backup them to your Google drive and restore them on the new phone.
Everything else the smart switch will transfer as long as your phone isn't too old (6+ years)

Yes learned this from experience, defo back WhatsApp up before you do anything

I am in the same situation. Waiting for my S24 to arrive next week. My question is what is the way to do the switch properly. I don´t know when to swipe the sims between the phones and do the smart switch process. Is before the smart switch, or after?

SIM card doesn't matter, smart switch will do the majority but ensure all your cloud backups (Google, WhatsApp etc) are current beforehand
