Google play system update failed

I'm having an issue when trying to update the google play system it keeps failing. 

The last update installed was the August update

I have tried clearing caches and restarting the phone without any success

You mean uninstall the update from google play app

Aperantly, it might be bug within Google, and it might fix itself after a while. You can check more on here : https://support.google.com/pixelphone/thread/229498983/i-m-facing-problem-while-updating-google-play...
Also you can see in issue tracker that there's quite few people reporting same issues
