Get smart select back

Can we get smart select back it was really nice to have a feature where i could go to image grab the part of it i wanted and crop the background out. Now with ai select there is no way to grab something with out the ai messing up the one part of the image I wanted. At least add an option I'd you wanna generate or just save the image.

YES PLEASE!!! I've used Smart Select for literally years for almost everything!  Now the AI select tool thinks I want to copy everything, or doesn't let me save it as an image, or copy to the clipboard automatically, no .gif maker anymore, etc.  I know they want to push AI, but don't take away a perfectly unbroken feature that we've all used for years!!  Bring it back please!

Hi there, @Cadorette. I appreciate your point of view about AI Select. Our researchers and developers have access to the threads here, and will always endevour to refine the software based on feedback (and where it's logistically possible to do so, of course).

Just to let you know, though, you can still create GIFs on AI Select:

Simply select the image/video/text > Click the 3-dot menu (top-right of the options) > Create GIF.

If there is any way to let the team know that the user's would like to have the option to use the older / snappier smart select which would just have a rectangular selection start off in the center of the screen, that would be ideal. I do not like the new AI based version since it is slow for me, never registers the first tap, always requires a second tap, and is frustrating as a user.
