The balanced answer is clearly a no, no you don't need to get the new shiny thing, you current phone is still a beastly powerhouse that is more than adequate.
But
If you can, and you will enjoy the new shiny thing, then why not? But certainly don't stretch yourself too far for tech that will be 'out of date' again before you know it!
Same every year, but the pre-order deals really sweeten the deal...
