Gallery Stories - Story reels automatically advancing and playing: Make it stop

Recently upgraded to an S24 from an S7, and so far, loving the upgrade. I like the auto-generated stories as it is making some cute reels of my kids when they were little without me having to dig through 7 years of pics and vids.

My issue is that when I am viewing a story, and it comes to the end, it doesn't just stop at the end and make you swipe to select a different story, the next story is automatically selected and starts playing immediately. Heck the cover image for the story is nothing more than a .1 second blip before the story starts playing.

I've tried searching for others reporting this issue, and have not come up with any post or site talking about this issue. I've looked through the gallery settings, and tried to find any other buried system setting and it's eluding me. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, and welcome to the community.

I can't replicate this on either S23U, Tab S9U, or Tab S8U. All I get is the watch again prompt.
I've even looked through the Gallery Labs settings

I have 5-7 seconds to decide which story I want to watch or just tap x and close the stories, so it's no issue for me on S24 ultra 🤔

Hi,

I just want to say that I have the same problem. But on another S24 with the same software versions it works as it should. I wonder if there's a setting somewhere that affects this. On the other S24 there's a nice collage of the pictures at the end, while mine just skips automatically to the next story. Irritating.
