Galaxy S24 Ultra – Pro Mode DNG files display rotated even in Samsung Gallery

When shooting in Pro Mode (DNG + JPEG), the DNG files appear rotated 90 degrees in Samsung Gallery, even though the matching JPEGs from the same shot are correctly oriented after export from Lightroom, Snapseed or any software exporting DNG.

The issue persists after cache clear, camera reset, and latest firmware update. It occurs with both main and telephoto lenses and is visible directly in the phone’s default Gallery app (no third-party software involved).

This confirms that the camera is writing incorrect EXIF orientation data to DNG files at capture time. Please escalate this to the camera firmware / image-processing team for verification and correction in a future update.

I have the S25 Ultra and have not seen any of the issues you seeing

It may not happen with the s25 ultra and It could be a different software version causing it. What os are you using?

I'm on Android 16

That's interesting, I'm on android 14, one ui 6.1 so it may only affect this version.

Have you checked in camera assistant app (if you have one) if not try downloading it from galaxy store and check if DOF adapter correction is turned off.

Make sure you have the latest software update, I have s24 ultra on one ui 8 (android 16) and i do not have this issue. The software could potentially be the main problem.

I turned DOF adapter on and the exported DNG still rotated
