Has anyone experienced face unlocking issues? Mine works only 7/10 times. I had an 15 pro max and face unlocking on that works like a charm even in pitch dark conditions, and I would say I feel in this area my s24 ultra is far behind iphone. Because sometimes it took more time to scan( only in Low light/dark environments)

I raised the issue to the samsung support and they confirmed it after checking my log report.

I want to know does anyone else have similar experiences. Maybe samsung work for a solution if find out more users experiencing it.

Low light or night time can affect the face unlock recognition @Abhi1111  effectiveness.

My phone is pretty good but does not unlock all of the time, first time at low light ir at night.

You can set the screen brightness to increase when using Face Recognition, and use an alternative appearance too.

If I can be of any further help then please don't hesitate to ask.  😎

Thanks for your reply👍. I already applied those settings, but like I said, it's working only 7/10 times(I am speaking only about low light/dark environments). First of all, I found it frustrating because of my experience with 15pro max face unlocking was excellent. So I kind of wonder why would samsung fix this. Both are the best.

Iphone has a Dot matrix sensors to do face unlocking. But other manufacturers like Samsung just use the front facing camera. So in low light you face won't be illuminated enough.
But of course you do have other forms for unlocking your phone unlike the iPhone.
Trusted places, devices, finger print etc.
I would love Samsung to bring back iris scanning as that worked in the dark. It was a secure way of unlocking the phone as well.
But sadly I don't see that coming back

Indeed, the unlocking mechanism of my iPhone is remarkably efficient and user-friendly. In the past, I owned a Vivo X60 Pro, and its facial recognition feature was equally impressive. It had the ability to unlock my phone even in low-light conditions, similar to the iPhone, without the need to increase the screen brightness.I replaced vivo with S24 ultra. 😒 Face recognition is very bad in S24 ultra at night time. 🌙
