Dark Pictures in Samsung 24 Ultra

After a long wait I finally moved to the S24 Ultra four months ago. I felt that it should have best camera out there, given its price tag and the hype created by influencers.

However, whenever I compare S24 Ultra pictures with Iphone 15 pro max, the S24 ultra looses. The S24 ultra outputs dark pictures, even though the light source is adequate. I was in Thailand a couple of months back and took pictures on the beach in the scorching sun. But the pictures come out dark. So, I had to post edit them using the remaster option.

Anyone facing the same issue ? And when is Samsung going to provide an update to fix this? I believe that the software is not fully realising the potential of the S24 ultra camera lenses.

Hi @SaIF BHuiYAN and may I extend a Warm Welcome to the Samsung Community Forum.

Personally I've had no issues with how my photo's come out on my Samsung Galaxy s²⁴ Ultra.

Are you using a case or camera lens protectors  ?

Do all your photo's come out dark ? If so a Samsung Service Centre can assess your phone.

Daily Driver > Samsung Galaxy s²⁵ Ultra 512Gb ~ Titanium Black.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

i am using an off brand lens protector. is that the reason why ?

Which is a good brand lens protector i can use then?

Also in this review by Tom's guide, they have also concluded that S24 ultra takes darker picture than the iphone:

Is you screen brightness on auto?

Have you turned on hdr in both camera app ( via camera assistant app) and in gallery. ?

Also. I'd still to 12MP until that elusive software update drops this month.

Putting anything over the lens will stop some light and clarity.... Samsung have used high quality glass over the lens and you may have stuck a cheap plastic over the top resulting reduced quality

Also the front facing camera shows dark pictures. I am using Samsung original tpu screen protector. It has a notch, so the front camera is not covered. Seems like a software issue.

24 Ultra images are far from dark if anything Apple phones have very dark shadows etc
