Colour issues S24+

As much as I am a Samsung Galaxy tragic, I have to say I am really disappointed with the colour display of my phone.

I held off buying a new phone for years, I love my SG9 - it's never put a foot wrong and the only reason I've updated is to get 5G compatibility, but when I compare screens between the two the difference is startling.  I bought the phone at the beginning of July 2024. I understand there was a colour issue in February this year which was patched. I believe my phone is up to date now.

I would not mind this except that the phone is so washed out it makes editing photos on the device almost impossible to do.  I do a lot of phone photography, and whilst sometimes I like to get creative with my edits, I also like realistic images.  The phone is so washed out that the photos look nothing like reality and of course if I edit something to warm it up or make it look like what I actually SEE (ie, "natural") on every other screen the colours in the images are messed up.  For instance, I take a photo of my orange cat but on screen the image is pale, almost cool tan.

I've had the phone for a month and I really feel like returning it and jumping ship.

Can anyone suggest any fixes or apps that might assist with this?

Have you played around with Screen Mode in Display Settings? This is where the software was changed after complaints about the screen colours.

You can now change quite a few settings here.

Thanks for the reply. I have gone into all the display settings that I could find, played with the "vivid" and "natural" settings (there's hardly a difference between the two), tried adjusting colour vividness and RGB settings, etc.  It really doesn't make a difference.

I'm just covering all areas here. Have you got a screen protector that's affecting your screen? Sorry if this question sounds crazy.

I have the S24 U, and I've had many generations of Samsung phones going back to the S2 and never had issues with the screen colours.

@Renlish do you have eye comfort shield or adaptive Colour Tone activated  ?

Daily Driver > Samsung Galaxy s²⁵ Ultra 512Gb ~ Titanium Black.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

No screen protector stuck on the phone and I took out out of my protective case to check to be sure at your suggestion and no difference. 😞  Thank you for your help though!

I don't use either of those  - have turned them on and off to check though.

From what I am reading, this is an actual choice that Samsung made with these phones, which is really disappointing.

If you go into settings
Display
Screen Mode
Tap on vivid
Then advance settings
You should have an adjustment slider like in my screen shot, to go from mild vivid more saturated look1723707278359.jpg

I just had my S24 delivered and experiencing the same issue. When transferring data from my s21, the colour difference of even the photo on my lock screen is like night and day. I've tried all the troubleshooting tips online but unfortunately had no luck. Will return the phone as still in the contract cooling off phase.
