@johnb56: I recommend opening the Camera app > Tap '12M' at the top of the screen so it changes to '200M' (for ultra high resolution images) > Get the moon into frame, then tap the zoom options at the bottom of the viewfinder, or place your finger and thumb on the screen, and spread them apart/pinch them together to adjust the zoom > Tap the white circle below the viewfinder to capture the image. You may wish to rest on something, or use a tripod to keep your hands steady, as zooming in will accentuate your movements, and may result in the image being blurred.

Also you might need the scene optimiser to be ON in camera settings.
People are a bit touchy about moon photos these days.
So be careful 🧐. You have been warned 😂
