I've got S24 Ultra and feel the cameras underwhelm in my view.
They are pretty good at standard 1x pic but use the zoom and it all goes wrong. Night time pics aren't great.
Yet the screens are truly awesome.
My device is an S25 Ultra.

If you get it right, they can get really decent results.
But you really need to fiddle with the settings.
In my personal opinion. I think the issue with the cameras is hardware related.
Otherwise, why have they not issued a software update.
I do like the phone in itself.
But I really wished I had kept my S23 Ultra. Had I known, I would have returned this phone.
So looking forward to the S25 Ultra, and hopefully, it will be back to cameras i will enjoy. Back to a point and shoot camera setup

The camera is brilliant I would say, there is definitely room for improvements. I would like wider frame for the pictures, I feel it very focused on a rather close focus, and I would definitely love a wider one, same thing that it bugs me about the selfie camera. Other phones selfie camera is wider, but if you know how to catch a really good angle, you might be able to have a pretty wide background too, but it's a shame this only works on 3:4, same for the rear camera. If you try to use 9:16 or Full, you won't capture a wide view, which is upsetting. I believe the S20U was best at using the full frames both rear and selfie and I only used full frame on it, on the S24U I am forced to use 3:4, and sadly the newer technology should be better and not make us crave the technology used 4 years ago. I am also eagerly waiting for camera updates but for some reason it's not coming. On previous years we would have already 2 updates by now.
As concerning the filter issue, I have that as well, but I am pretty sure it's on the Samsung phones, I use the 'remaster' option if a picture is too blurry, but sometimes 'remaster' on this phone is deleting some details from the picture too, and because of that I am not able to use it on all the pictures I'd like to, and I have to leave them with that filter effect on them.

Interestingly, 5 or 6 years ago I had a Huawei P30 Pro. It had a brilliant camera set up. It had up to 100x zoom and it just worked. I remember being at the beach and was able to use the camera to focus in on a house halfway up the cliff with such detail, could almost see what was inside the living room. (Some might say this was too much though).
S21 Ultra, S23 Ultra and S24 Ultra have all been nowhere near it.
If it wasn't for the lack of Google Play? I would go back to Huawei. I would even have another P30 Pro (that had Google Play) but for the lack of 5g.
My device is an S25 Ultra.

As user experience, I feel the camera is easy to use, it takes pictures fast and tbh most of them are satisfying and I am happy with the first shot, but like I said, I would like it to have wider focus. I like to capture as wider a view as possible with the camera I have in my pocket. I wish this phone could do better at that. If I see a tall building, I would like to capture it at full length from bottom to top, I believe Iphone was able to do that a couple of years ago. As concerning the Zoom, I would definitely like it clearer, I don't think a clear Zoom is too much, in the context where the S24U max zoom is really really blurry and lacks detail and looks like an oil painting.

I also came from the S21 ultra ( still have it exynos version) and never really had any issues with it. While people were moaning about it all over the place.
Infact I started my journey here with the S21 ultra.
I was gonna skip the s24 ultra planning to use the s21 ultra for it's full 4 year OS update but got greedy with the good preorder deals on the S24 ultra and got that.
The only thing I hate about the S24 ultra is the boxy design.
The cameras I love so much I don't even feel the need to edit them most of the time.
Then again I stick to the 12MP which I feel is the best option.
The 50MP and 200MP were *****. ( haven't checked after the update yet)
But Yes I love the cameras on the S24 ultra and that's that.
