I received my s24 plus and waited for my new case to arrive, phone was not dropped or tossed around however I placed the phone in a new case and 2 days later noticed the front screen has a crack and is chipped, after putting a protector on it, and the back screen with a protector and case on it shattered. Is this just a faulty phone or are we out to make more money by me having to pay the high $ insurance costs and fees to replace?

Hi @Sheri1 and may I extend a Warm Welcome to the Samsung Community Forum Section for Uk and Eu Members 😀
I'm sorry to hear of the damage to your phone. 😔
It is always a good idea to place the phone in a good case ,and apply a screen protector to help stop damage from accidental bumps and drops.
Of course we are not able to guess what's happened to your phone.
A chip is indicative of a bump !
What make of case did you place the phone into ?
I'm wondering if the case has somehow caused stress to the phone. 🤔
Can you upload photo's of the phone to show the damage ,and of the case please.
If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask 😎

I've been buying smartphones for about 10 years or so and in all that time, I've only managed to make a scratch that was only noticeable when the screen was black. I also always had the phones in one kind of case or another. My phones have been dropped from chest height on a marble floor and many times from falling off the bed or sofa sustaining no damage.
I can't possibly imagine the damage you incurred happening on its own, so to speak.
Are you not giving us the complete story?

I have a similar complaint. I have had smart phones for over 10 years, with nary a crack. I am a very careful individual. Since getting my S24 a few months ago, I have two large cracks in the screen. It has always had a screen protector and a silicone case. It fell from the couch onto the carpeted floor and that created the initial crack. Since then, the original crack has expanded in two directions. The second crack appeared with no drop and has also continued to expand. Both started at the edge with a very small, multi-pronged crack. I have had multiple Samsung S series phones and have always loved them, but this one is not living up to my past experience nor my expectations. I am very disappointed in the screen quality on this phone.
