I have a completely unrelated question - is this a British thing where a company is a plural entity and not a singular entity?
I ask that because I've seen that more than several times.

I have reservations about Samsung's intentions regarding their flagship phone, but this is merely my personal perspective.
Daily Driver > Samsung Galaxy s²⁵ Ultra 512Gb ~ Titanium Black.
The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

Was going to buy one of these but the lack of a micro sd card slot has put me right off it. No better than iPhone and wouldn’t buy one of those either. I’m not paying for cloud service endlessly when I can make my own back-ups to an card. So can you plug it into a backup device via it’s data cable or has that boat sailed as well??

This is a major backward step I think.
Samsung. Have a good long think about your direction of travel design wise. A lot of people have a problem with the loss of the SD card option.

I still have my Galaxy S10 and keeping it on life support and scrounging ebay for parts. Unless Samsung reverts its stand on SD Cards and phono jacks on their flag ship devices, As A Power User I refuse to downgrade to their newer devices. This is not out of stubborness, or because I want more storage, the argument gets debunked by them saying buy a higher capacity device or cloud storage, and get an adapter. POWER USERS WANT TO HAVE OPTIONS! Android phone users have always been of the tinkering mindset.
The argument or use case back to samsung is AS A POWER USER of these flag ship devices I want the ability to be able to use such peripherals as a feature of the phone and not have to carry attachments that can get lost, in the event of no internet reception or poor signal/ interference prevents me from connecting to data and devices.
AS a power user I want to transfer my data using secure removable media, where cybersecurity is of concern when using digital signals like wifi, or bluetooth or NFC.
If i hear the argument that phono jacks have been removed to improve dust and water resistance, what about the note, and its Pen?
AS A POWER USER I want to extend the phone battery usage by minimizing bluetooth usage, and connect with a hard line to the audio jack. in addition to minimizing radiation the I am exposed to from bluetooth devices.
As a power user I want to have the flexibility, and compatability to revert to low tech in the event of outtages.
These flag ship devices are no longer targeting POWER USERS, but rather the Trendy.

I'm in the same boat. I have an S10+ and refuse to upgrade unless they bring it back. I might just have to bite the bullet and buy the Xperia 1 VI
