I was just thinking, while samsung has introduced AI on some models of phones and tablets, to wet out appetites, so to speak.

I wonder just how long it will be before it becomes a subscription service, especially as phones can cost over a thousand pounds for a flagship model, as it is. Add subsubscription fees and owning a phone could prove to be a very expensive luxury.
Especially if you add in other areas. Such as film and music streaming, cloud storage is another area. Not to mention network access for calls and emails.
I wonder what others think, just out of curiousity.

In terms of safeguards a few things I've noticed whilst using Galaxy AI. When I was writing about companies and their services the writing style AI wasn't willing to enhance my writing due to inappropriate content. Another time I wanted to use the photo editing AI to move my friends head further up to make them look silly but it wouldn't let me. My only guess as to why it wouldn't allow that is because it thought I was attempting to remove his head and fake some kind of gruesome picture. With what we have at the moment I can't really see anything too sinister on the horizon to be worried about but I understand why there are limitations.

Same as Microsoft Word. I didn't mind purchasing the copy. But I won't subscribe to it. The problem is it's like buying a Rolls Royce. Nice purchase until you have to pay for everything else day in and day out with no end.

Sadly, it is a case of it being a great tool. Until what you want to do doesn't conform to the status quo.

I actually have nearly 5 years of Microsoft 365 Family subscription paid up as we speak 😂 I can't stack more than 5 years. But I only do it for the cloud storage benefits, the office apps are just the cherry on top. I usually buy the 15 months of Microsoft 365 bundled alongside 12 months of McAfee or Norton for £39.99 or £44.99 from Argos as in terms of value it's well worth it for me. I just signed up for a months free trial Copilot Pro and I'm going to test it's utility to me but at £19 a month I can guarantee I won't be continuing the subscription.

I'm fine with the photo editing decision, I get it, but I agree with you on the writing style choosing not to work because I mentioned company names and services. What I wrote was my opinion. It should still do its job as fundamentally, all I was looking for it to do was improve how it was worded my opinion. I should be allowed to do that.

Exactly free speech should be a must. The consequences of the content should remain with the author, in my opinion. There is nothing wrong with AI highlighting misuse, though.

I hope they will let us have some AI features for free. I have circle to search on the Note20U even after updates, should I have to pay for it on the S24U? Maybe we are not going to pay for the basic ones, fingers crossed. I don't feel there is even that much AI right now. We are almost like trial customers, these phones already are expensive. Some of the AI features don't work well and the AI is causing problems due to excessive picture processing which is resulting in some poor quality pictures. There are alot of issues to be addressed and I see even on updates are not fully optimised or are delayed. In my opinion is going to take more than one year to fix and optimise the AI to make people want to pay for it. Probably Samsung should decrease the price of the phones if customers are going to pay for some of their features, we have to have subscriptions for almost anything on the phone anyway, even one of the Security settings is paid already.

I don't think AI on the phone we paid should dictate us how to edit our pictures and how to write or talk. We managed successfully for thousands of years without AI. That is our problem and our right as humans. AI is just an asset.

Nowadays almost anything I tried to download off play store and galaxy store required a subscription at some point, even the most silly thing. I am better off without them. Everything is for money these days.

Highlighting misuse is one thing, but maybe sometimes it's erroneous and it still stops you for doing the thing you want on your phone.
